Alex Rodriguez and his chances of breaking records

As most of you know, Derek Jeter just broke the 3000 hit barrier, a seemingly impossible milestone that only the best in baseball have ever achieved.  MLB.com cited a list of hitters that might be next to make 3000 hits; A-Rod was one of them.  Rodriguez has only 238 hits to go, to reach 3000 hits.  At the pace Alex is hitting, he will almost certainly make the milestone within the next two years.  The problem is, if the 35 year old deserves to belong to the 3000 hit club, because of his steroid use.
There has already been spectulation if Barry Bonds should hold the all-time home run record.  And chances are that A-Rod might break Bonds' home run-record himself.  Rodriguez has 628 home runs...while Bonds only has 756.  If A-Rod sets new records in hits and homers, does he deserve to keep it?  Even if he used steroids?
